The 2011 Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala, or the Met Gala, is always night of out-there fashion. I can’t stop staring at pretty dresses, so here’s a selection of my favorites!
Ashley Greene in Donna Karen A little sparkle goes a long way in making this dress a smash hit! Sequins can sometimes make a dress look heavy and old, but the pattern on this gown (combined with the updo and no-necklace look) make her look like the young woman she is!
Ashley Olson in Vintage Dior Couture The Olsens are typically spotted in ill-fitting, unflattering ensembles but I actually like this one! Ok, the sleeves are enormous but look at the fit of that dress. She looks fabulous!
Diana Agron in Michael Kors Red dress + blonde hair = the perfect combination. Having her hair pulled back into a low ponytail helps to accentuate the unique neckline of this dress. I’m not crazy about the Wonder Woman-esque bracelet but I do like that she kept the rest of her jewelry simple.
Elizabeth Banks in Tommy Hilfiger The hair. The red lips. This woman can do no wrong! She looks a bit old Hollywood but with a modern elegance.
Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney Tall, slender, gorgeous. Long sleeves are a timely and fashionable choice considering that Princess Catherine chose them on her wedding day. And that thigh-high slit? Work it, girl!
