Brights and Prints

Last week I popped into my local LOFT to browse the sale section because it was an additional 50% off. I walked out with two tanks and pair of cropped pants for less than $45 and felt pretty good about it. The next day, a LOFT email told me about an in-store only sale where everything was 50% off. I debated shopping or not shopping for about half a second.

Tank (also bought in lime/white stripes, and a plain tank in ivory), Cardigan, Skirt, Dolman Top (also bought in leopard), Ankle Zip Pants, Ruffle Shell, Skinny Jeans.

I spent about $250 between these two trips. But here’s what’s even better: these pieces alone can create at least 20 combinations so that’s really like spending $12.50 or less on each outfit. Score.

I’m a big fan of leopard print and I don’t think it will ever go out of style. I’m still mixing two of the three trends I outlined in early Spring. Here’s how I’m wearing brights and prints today:

Tee, JCP (similar); Cardigan, LOFT (similar); Skirt, LOFT; Necklace, eBay (details here); Shoes, Payless (similar).

A few months back, I bought a leopard tee at JCP. As I detailed here, I was planning on returning it because it was too short for my long torso. It sat and sat on my dresser, either because I’m too lazy to package it up to send back or because I was trying to find a reason to keep it. Turns out that it works well with my high-waist skirts and I love the print with my new pink skirt.

What kind of deals have you landed lately? There are a lot of Summer and back-to-school sales going on so keep an eye on your favorite stores and websites. Oh, and if you live in Virginia, this weekend clothes and school supplies are tax-free! Maryland goes tax-free August 12-18.
