Mads & Peety: Day off recap!

Before I jump into a recap of the amazing day of Mads & Peety, don’t forget to enter our giveaway! One lucky winner will get the custom frame and artwork pictured below. We’re accepting entries until Saturday via Rafflecopter.

Since Peety and I share a love of food, toys, and shopping, we knew what our day would involve. We even came up with a pretty little agenda.

We allowed ourselves to sleep in – it was our day off, afterall! – and got ourselves going with a nutritious Starbucks breakfast. Friday is Bagel Day at work so I had to celebrate even though we weren’t in the office.

IKEA gets our hearts racing. We both had a short list of items to buy, but going through the showroom is too much fun to skip. I’m slightly obsessed with this giant wall at the top of the escalator and would love to turn it into over-the-couch artwork across three canvases.

Peety and I clearly had a lot of fun playing playing on the furniture and snapping pictures of our favorite things – chandeliers, fake plants, ice cream, stuffed animals, and Mad Men-esque chairs.

We bid adieu to IKEA and headed over to Franklin’s Brewery. Peety shared her love of their General Store in a blog post so I was really excited to see it in person. I think we both fell for the Sweet Talkin’ Ken doll but my favorite item of the day was the narwhal finger puppet. Oh, and the onion rings.

After a late lunch at the Brewery, it was time to hug (each other and the shelves of wine) goodbye. The wheels are spinning for our next adventure, which we’ll obviously share with you when the time comes.

Now that you know the story of the narwhal and fro-yo drawing, don’t you want it even more?
